How to Care for Your Sucré Couture Jewelry
Sucré Couture jewelry is built to be worn — stacked, layered, and lived in. Every piece is electroplated for added protection and engineered to last. But like anything worth having, a little care goes a long way.
What does "waterproof" mean for our jewelry?
Waterproof means our pieces can handle everyday exposure to water — sweat, rain, hand-washing, and occasional contact with water during your routine. It does not mean you should make a habit of submerging your jewelry, soaking it in pools or hot tubs, or sleeping in it nightly. The better you treat it, the longer it keeps its brilliance.
What to avoid
Harsh chemicals are the enemy of gold plating. Remove your jewelry before applying perfume, body spray, hairspray, lotion, and cleaning products. These break down the plating over time faster than water ever will. When in doubt, jewelry goes on last—after your beauty routine, not before.
How to clean your jewelry
Warm water and a small amount of mild soap are all you need. Gently clean with your fingers or a soft cloth, rinse thoroughly, and pat dry. Do not use abrasive materials, jewelry cleaning solutions, or ultrasonic cleaners on plated pieces.
How to store your jewelry
Store each piece separately to avoid scratching. A soft pouch, lined box, or individual compartment works best. Keep jewelry away from direct sunlight and humidity—a bathroom countertop is not ideal for long-term storage.
Understanding your plating
Sucré Couture jewelry is 18K gold-plated, 18K gold-filled, or rhodium-plated, depending on the piece — details are listed on each product page. Gold-filled contains significantly more gold than standard plating and will maintain its appearance longer with the same level of care. Rhodium plating on our silver pieces provides a bright, tarnish-resistant finish.
Can I wear my Sucré jewelry every day?
Yes—that's exactly what it's made for. Stack it, layer it, wear it to work and out at night. Just give it a quick wipe-down with a soft cloth after heavy wear and store it properly when you're not wearing it.
